Ingredients:

  • 1 kg (2.2 lbs) boneless pork knuckle
  • 1 kg (2.2 lbs) fresh potatoes, washed and cleaned
  • 50 g (1.8 oz) butter
  • A few sprigs of rosemary
  • 10 cloves garlic
  • 500 ml (17 fl oz) beer
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Red pepper
  • Olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit) without a fan.
  2. In a frying pan with olive oil, sear the pork knuckle on all sides until golden brown.
  3. Transfer the pork knuckle to a roasting pan.
  4. Add the potatoes, garlic, and rosemary. Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper.
  5. Drizzle with a little olive oil and rub in all the spices well.
  6. Add the beer and 100-200 ml (3-7 fl oz) of water.
  7. Distribute the butter knobs on top.
  8. Cover the pan with aluminum foil.
  9. Bake for 2 hours in the lower part of the oven.
  10. After 2 hours, remove the foil and return the pan to the oven for another 20-30 minutes, until the dish is baked through.
  11. Serve warm and enjoy!
