Instructions:

  1. Cook the lentils: In a pot, add the lentils and 2 liters of water. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to medium and simmer for about 20 minutes.
  2. Add vegetables: Add the onions and carrots to the pot. Stir and cook for an additional 20 minutes.
  3. Add seasonings: Add the tomatoes, bell pepper, garlic, salt, black pepper, paprika, and marjoram. Stir and simmer for another 20 minutes.
  4. Make the spice oil: In a separate pan, heat oil and add about 1 tablespoon of paprika. Sauté for 15-20 seconds.
  5. Combine: Add a few ladlefuls of the lentil stew to the pan with the paprika oil and stir continuously. Return the mixture to the pot and simmer for 5 more minutes.
  6. Serve: Your lentil stew is ready! Serve hot and enjoy.
