Instructions:
Boil the lamb meat:
- Place the meat in a pot with 2 liters of water.
- Add a pinch of salt.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 90 minutes.
- During cooking, remove any foam that forms on the surface.
- Once the meat is cooked, remove it from the pot and let it cool.
- Reserve the broth.
Prepare the vegetables:
- Roughly chop the spinach.
- Finely chop the garlic and onions.
- Heat oil in a saucepan.
- Sauté the garlic and onions for 1-2 minutes, until softened.
- Add the spinach and cook until wilted.
- Add the canned tomatoes, rice, salt, black pepper, paprika, and savory.
- Stir well and turn off the heat.
Assemble the dish:
- Transfer the vegetable mixture to a baking dish.
- Shred the lamb meat and arrange it over the rice.
- Pour in about 1.5 liters of the broth.
Bake:
- Bake the dish at 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit), without a fan, in the lower part of the oven, for about 50 minutes.
Serve:
- Serve the lamb with spinach and rice warm.
- Accompany the dish with yogurt and fresh garlic sprigs.
