Ingredients:

  • 800 g (28 oz) pork neck (cut into cubes)

  • 120 g (4 oz) bacon (julienned)
  • 2 pickled cucumbers (julienned)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 200 g (7 oz) canned crushed tomatoes
  • 50 ml (1.7 fl oz) red wine
  • Parsley (chopped)
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 allspice berries
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Paprika
  • Oil

Instructions:

  1. Heat a little oil in a preheated saucepan.
  2. Add the bacon and fry it lightly until it releases its aroma. Then remove it from the saucepan.
  3. In the same fat, seal the pork neck cubes well.
  4. Remove the sealed meat.
  5. To the same saucepan, add the onion, carrots, peppers, garlic, and mushrooms. Stir and sauté for 3-4 minutes, until the vegetables soften.
  6. Return the pork to the saucepan.
  7. Add the red wine, crushed tomatoes, salt, black pepper, paprika, bay leaf, and allspice berries. Stir.
  8. Add 300 milliliters (10 fl oz) of water.
  9. Cover the saucepan and let the dish simmer over medium heat for 30 minutes.
  10. 30 minutes later, remove the lid from the saucepan.
  11. Add the fried bacon, pickled cucumbers, and chopped parsley. Stir.
  12. Turn off the heat.
  13. Serve the dish warm.
